De eilander eigenheid van Corsicaanse polyfonie heb je misschien al ervaren tijdens een van Tatiana Lina’s workshops met Corsicaanse zang. Zij leerde deze bijzondere traditie van Nadine Rossello. Hoog tijd om haar eens uit te nodigen. We kennen Corsicaanse polyfonie gezongen door mannen. Vrouwen zongen vooral thuis of in de kerk. Bepaalde liederen waren speciaal voor hen gereserveerd, zoals klaagzangen, wiegeliedjes en begrafenisliederen. Tegenwoordig zingen Corsicaanse vrouwen alles wat ze maar willen! Hierbij is het erg belangrijk je eigen geluid te laten horen en goed te luisteren naar en reageren op de anderen. We studeren tijdens dit weekend een drietal wereldlijke en religieuze liederen in en werken daarbij aan stemplaatsing, ademhaling, versieringen, het zoeken naar harmonieën, vrijheid en communicatie. De voertaal is Engels.

Nadine Rossello is an artist who looks for her Italo-Corse origins through songs and polyphonies of Corsica, Italy, and more widely through the all Mediterranean region. After musical studies in national and regional academies, followed by a few years of musical education, she decides to dedicate herself completely to the scene as singer, musician, composer and arrangeuse. The shows she creates « Between Corsica and Italy », « The Emigrant », « Vagabonde » & « Oriental’ issima » pay tribute in her origins through the song and the Mediterranean poetry that she revisits in a very personal way with her musicians, associating poems, compositions or put in space. Her next musical project is an association with the greek singer & harpist Elisa Vellia. Nadine leads her way voluntarily off the beaten track but she can precede as well Cesaria Évora or the group I Muvrini on big scenes, or record for the album Naiz in Basque language with Peio Serbielle. She has recorded 10 albums based on her own shows. The polyphony is also an important part in its artistic route with creation of groups like Zingarelles (Europeen songs a capella) Rifà i passi and Madamicella (feminine Corsican Polyphonies) and coaching vocal groups & singers (Angioini…). The transmission is also essential for Nadine who gives regularly workshops (COMDT in Toulouse, National stage Albi…), internships of voice (Trouver sa voix), & training courses of Corsican polyphonies in France and abroad. She is since its creation the artistic director of Cie Musicadines.
